Our nature is suffering!

  • Is it essential to protect and preserve the environment? Why?
  • What can we do to maintain/protect the natural beauty around us?
  • What could you do to make others more environmentally-aware?
  • Which do you think would be more effective: raising public awareness or imposing stricter fines for illegal hunting?

  1. It seems to me that most of people in our country simply do not perceive the information of environmental problems seriously. Shortage of drinking water - it is just an ordinary phrase for us, but at the same time lots of people somewhere in Africa dream about a small sip of it.
People say we have deforestation, but we take this information as a normal one, because we don't feel that deforestation, it is too far from our town and do not have any affect on us. We behave like irresponsible little children, spoiling our planet and making mess on it.
So that, the government should raise public awareness - it would be more effective than imposing stricter fines either for improper disposal of industrial waste or illegal fishing and hunting.

    1. You're absolutely right. Perhaps we should borrow the practices used in other countries where people DO save water and paper!

  2. I absolutely agree with, Dasha. Every day we such slogans as "Let's safe our planet!", "Our planet is endanger!" on the mass media, but the don't pay any attantion to it, because it doesn't affect them and because they have everything. I mean that man doesn't value what he has. Deforestation, shortage of water, air pollutin it all was created by a man and it's only our fault we caused it.
As far as I consider, goverment should raise people's awareness, that would be much better. As for fines, I don't think it can stop illegal haunting. People get them and forget(because they have a lot of earnings from illegal haunting) and carry on killing animals.
So, we should influence on minds, not pockets.
